So the day has arrived. You’ve waited weeks for your color appointment and  you can hardly contain your excitement. You’ve finally decided that today is the day you are going to make the change to that amazing Pinterest pic you’ve been ogling.

You go in, have a consultation with your stylist, and you sit there for 3+ hours expecting to look exactly like the picture. You and your stylist are hitting it off. She’s sharing great information about styling and you are taking mental notes so you can fully enjoy this new look at home.

Then she rinses, glazes, cuts, and styles you out. She hands you the mirror and you are expecting to scream with excitement but wait, it’s not quite as blonde as you wanted. The haircut is great. It’s styled out great. But man it’s not blonde enough! Now what!?

Fear starts to take over and before you can say what you are really thinking you say it’s okay, you pay, set up your next appointment and go home. Once home, you can’t help but think, “Man this really isn’t what I was looking for. I really wanted it to be brighter.”

Does this story sound familiar? Hey we all have been there. It can be hard to tell someone that you don’t quite love what they did. No-one wants to hurt someones feelings. And that’s why we here at MOD wanted to take a minute to tell you that it’s okay to tell us if we missed the mark! That is how we learn and grow!

We want you to feel comfortable enough to let us know. We are always willing to make any adjustments necessary. Never do we intend to get it wrong and almost always when we have had to make an adjustment it is something that is a pretty easy fix.

We work as a team here at MOD. So we will work together to do what works best for you and your schedule to make that adjustment. We ultimately want you to feel beautiful and love your hair!

So here’s a few tips to bring up the subject:

  1. If you know right away in the chair it is not for example blonde enough, let us know. We will make the adjustment immediately if we can. If we can’t do it then we will work with you to get you in at a time that works best for you with one of our stylists.
  2. If you are unsure but want to go home and decide, let us know. We’d be happy to reach out to you in a few days to see if we need to make any adjustments. Sometimes, just like when you go shopping, you need to try it on.
  3. If you get home and realize it isn’t what you were wanting or expecting, please call us. One of our front desk team members will be happy to get you in with one of our stylists to make that adjustment. Or they also would be happy to connect you with a manager.

 

Our mission is to create hair color you will love! But should we miss the mark, we want to know. That’s why this blog was important to us. We want to take the uncomfortableness out of what can be an uncomfortable situation so you can love your hair.

10 Questions With Merima Mujic

 

 

1. When did you graduate from cosmetology college and from which one did you graduate? I graduated from College Of Hair Design as a barber stylist.
2. Why did you go into this industry? Ever since I can remember I have loved everything about the hair industry. I love making everyone feel confident and even more beautiful. It’s such a creative job.
 
3. What is your favorite part of being a cosmetologist? Being able to give everyone a different look, my favorite part is coloring hair.
 
4. Why did you choose Mod? I chose mod because I love the environment. Everyone here is super supportive and I love everything they have to offer.
5. What’s your favorite thing about being a team member at Mod? Definitely that everyone helps one another and we keep each other motivated.
 
6. What’s your most embarrassing salon moment? Once I was shampooing my customer and telling him how I’ve never let go of the hose while rinsing the hair and in that very moment I let go of the hose and drenched myself and him with water.
 
7. What’s your favorite styling tip you like to teach your guests? I love to teach my guests how to put wave in their hair without it taking them forever.
8. What do you like to do most when you are not in in the salon? I like to relax and just read a good book.
 
9. What are the hair care products you can not live without and why? I LOVE the Moroccan Oil Strong hair spray and texture spray, because the texture spray gives me lots of volume without feeling like I have a lot of product in my hair and the hairspray because I can still run my fingers through my hair but it still gives me a great hold.
10. What are your top two services you enjoy doing most and why? I most enjoy doing hilights and balayage.
